Personal Characteristics: A soldier
Reasons to go and fight: A serving soldier who had trained in the UK with the NSW Lancers detachment. When his comrades stayed in South Africa en route to Australia, returned home to finalise personal matters. He now returned to fight with his unit.
Details of service in war: February 1900 - December 1900 in Free State (joined Lancer Squadron at Paardeberg), and east Transvaal see NSW Lancers.
Service and life after the Boer War: Returned to Australia 8 January 1901 on Orient. Had agreed to serve a further one year in the Lancers following the Aldershot training and war service. Killed in a farm accident in 1914.
