Details of service in war: Malcom Stewart [Haynes] wrote many letters home to family and friends and these have been typed up compiled by date and bound. These letters were given by the Haynes family to the Royal United Services Institute of New South Wales in 1996 for safe keeping and the information of members. One of Private Stewart's nephews is Colonel John Haynes OAM psc jssc, who joined the Royal Australian Armoured Corps as a Trooper in 1948, is a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the RUSI of NSW Council.
