Service and life after the Boer War: Married Aileen Mary, worked as a Station Master, had children Lesley, George and Lillian May. Enlisted in the AIF on 20 August 1917 Private #58364 in the 7th Queensland Reinforcements. Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board SS Wyreema on 14 October 1918; recalled in December 1918. Discharged 6 January 1919. Again he did not see active service.
