Details of service in war: June 1900 - June 1901 In Cape Colony including charge at Bakenkop (3 July 1900) and skirmish at Stinkhoutboom where three killed (24 July 1900), and in northern Transvaal including battle of Rhenoster Kop (29 November 1900), great De Wet hunt, advance on Pietersburg and into east Transvaal.

Service and life after the Boer War: Worked as a labourer. Married to Elsie May White. Lived at Yeronga Avenue, Beulah Park SA and 19 Beulah Rd, Norwood SA. May have had one child Enlisted in WW1 on 8 September 1915, posted to 10 Bn, captured by the enemy when on traffic control duties, died when a Prisoner of War in German hands from wounds received in action, at Warneton in France 19 December 1917.
