Details of service in war: The New Zealand Government sent a 10th contingent in April 1902. It sailed on the 19th of that month, arriving on 27 May, four days before peace was declared. It did not see action.
Service and life after the Boer War: The 10th contingent sailed for home in July 1902. Henry (Harry) Keetley tried to enlist with the New Zealand Army in WW1 but was refused because of his age (46). He came to Australia and enlisted at Bathurst 3 June 1916 (giving his age as 43) with the 19th Battalion AIF. He was a Private No 6064. He was KIA in Lagnicourt and is buried in the Queant Road Cemetery Cambrai France. He was Awarded British War Medal 46653, Victory Medal 46115.
