Details of service in war: Operations: 'The battalion proceeded on the 19 March 1902 by train from Durban to Newcastle and thence to Klerksdorf on the 10th April arriving at the latter place on the 13th. Joined column under the command of Colonel De Lisle,which formed part of Thornycroft's Brigade. This column was inspected by Lord Kitchener on the 22 April, who expressed himself as pleased with the appearance of men and horse' (Lt Col P.L Murray Australian Military Contingents to South Africa.)
Service and life after the Boer War: No evidence of further military service, however, as a marksman he won a world record score of 105/105 in 1925. No other details of his subsequent life provided.
