Service and life after the Boer War: After the Boer War, Thomas went back to Sth. Africa and had children to a woman called Alice Maria NELSON. It is not known if they married. He had 4 daughters to Alice, from 14th Dec. 1905 to 7th June 1912. He returned to Binnaway/Coonabarabran, New South Wales. He ran a Second Hand Shop. He died at Coonabarabran Hospital 31st May 1922. He is buried at Roman Catholic Section, Coonabarabran cemetery, position unknown. There is a Pay Slip to 15 Aug. 1901. It would seem he was sending money back to support his son to a first marriage, Arthur Stanley (Stanley) EDWARDS who was born 14th Nov. 1890. (Australian Archives). Stan was probably been looked after by Thomas EDWARDS' mother (Mary EDWARDS nee KENNEDY) who lived in Binnaway, NSW. Stanley's mother, it would seem, was dead by then, or separated from Thomas. Thomas married Jane TEALE at Coonabarabran 21st December 1881. Together this couple had 6 children from 29 Sept. 1882 to 28 Nov. 1892. It is not known when Jane. Thomas EDWARDS' wife died. Apparently, Thomas EDWARDS died "broke". The informant for his death was the Matron of Coonabarabran District Hospital.
