Service and life after the Boer War: Travelled to England, served in the 2/14 York and Lancaster Regiment. Married a South African girl, Edith Watson after the Boer War. First three of their five children born in South Africa. Had a plantation in Vanuatu. When WW1 broke out he rejoined his old English regiment and served in France in the 2nd Bn. Eventually returned to live in WA.
