Details of service in war: June 1900 - June 1901 in Free State and northern Transvaal including ambush at Zwartkloof (1 September 1900) and at battle of Rhenoster Kop (29 November 1900), in great De Wet hunt, in advance on Pietersburg including ambush outside the town (8 April 1901), and in advance into east Transvaal.
Service and life after the Boer War: In his working life and career in Tasmania, Robert Withey Humphreys rose from post boy to director of Henry Jones (later Henry Jones/IXL) based in Hobart. Family has a photo of his participation (centre) at the Australian and New Zealand Apple and Pear Export Conference in 1937.
