Details of service in war: From December 1899 in north-west Cape Colony, Free State, and Transvaal. Invalided to Australia arriving 30 August 1900 (Murray).
Service and life after the Boer War: Worked as a labourer. Enlisted on 16 July 1915 aged 41 yrs 5 mths service no 1558, embarked from Aust 9 November 1915 served with 30 Bn and 8 MG Coy in France, returned to Australia and discharged 16 April 1918 on medical grounds. Lived the rest of his life in Kiama NSW never married.
