Details of service in war: The 27th (Devonshire) Company of the Imperial Yeomanry was raised in 1900; co-sponsored by Royal 1st Devonshire Yeomanry Cavalry, and Royal North Devonshire Hussars. The Yeomanry did much valuable work patrolling the veldt, but saw little action.
Service and life after the Boer War: Came to Sydney with his wife and two sons in 1912. Continued to work as a painter and decorator.
