Service and life after the Boer War: Returned from South Africa and participated in a NSW Lancers' Guard at the opening of the First Australian Parliament in Melbourne. Later bought a farm at Casino NSW and in 1916 bought a farm in Tingoora QLD. Retired in 1940 and moved to Torquay Qld a ran a boat hire business until his death in 1949.
