Details of service in war: March - May 1902 on Natal border and west Transvaal.

Service and life after the Boer War: Returned to Australia 11 July 1902 on the Drayton Grange. He was Married to Violet and living in Sydney, a Staff Sergeant in the instructional corps in 1916. Fought in WW1 and wounded many times (at least three), he servered with the 33rd Battalion. His military history as follows, 3 years ALH incl 2 years 9 and 10th Regiments, 6 years Instructional staff with RAGA and Cadre [Victoria], 'D' LH School Passed with Credit, University if Sydney, Topography 1915. Left Australia on the troop ship Marathon. Promoted to Second Lieutenant 23/2/1916 when he enlisted in the AIF, Lieutenant 1/5/1916 to Captain on the 1/10/1916 in France. Returned to Australia on the 6/1/1919. After the war he was a Farmer.
