Details of service in war: * D - Company was Lord Methuen's personal bodyguard whilst NSWIB was under his command. It is a pity they were not with him in 1902, he may have been wounded and captured. NAA 5207 Implies that he served 16 months in South Africa on 1
tour this appears to indicate a further 4 months in another unit, probably 3rd NSW Imperial Bushman. Residence was stated as Botany Sydney. With the NSWIB he served May 1900 - May 1901 in Rhodesia and west Transvaal including capture of de la Rey's convoy and guns at Wildfontein (24 March 1901). The 5 ACH did not see active service.
