The Second Horse Takes Shape

From Louis Laumen the sculptor, 7 November 2015.

I am happy to report that the clay Horseman will be all done in a few days. I am currently refining the surfaces and adding final fine detail, working from top to bottom.

There have been some especially demanding areas of detail, the hand holding the binoculars not the least of them, and this has been quite time consuming. The reins and pistol lanyard are to be added last as these simply get in the way of the rest of the modelling.

I am keen to see the matrix for Horseman #3 as I will be getting on to the design the moment #2 is done.

From Louis Laumen, 16 September 2015.

As you can see, the fundamental form of horse and rider is established, and the surface detailing has commenced, working from the top down. I should have the hat brim in place by the end of the day.
